All items that enter the world of Reckoning must be approved by Staff, meaning that items must be appropriate for your chosen class and culture, and that all weapons are safe.
Check you individual cultures’ page to locate their style.
Contact your Culture Leads via Discord, email (see our Contact page) or email contact@reckoninglarp.com if you are unsure about an item.

Simpler is better for your first event. Start with the basics that keep you comfortable and able to play:
Footwear: sturdy shoes or boots you can walk and run in.
Belt: useful for hanging pouches, mug, or small props.
Tunic & Pants: simple, neutral clothing that fits the setting.
Hood or Hat: adds instant character and helps with weather.
Warm Outerwear: layers that keep you safe and cozy at night.
After that, consider practical gear: a lantern or light, a pouch or belt bag, and a mug and utensils for meals.
If you want to invest more: bring a decorum tent (fits the in-game look) or use a modern tent (just keep it to the out-of-game areas).
Don’t forget rain gear (a cloak works great).

Kit items for Reckoning can be purchased at a variety of sources. We recommend sellers such as Burgschneider, Fell and Fair, Calimacil, Medieval Collectibles, Epic Armory, Fake Steel (Soft Blades), AllBestStuff, Grey Company Outfitters, Folk of the Wood, Armstreet, Kult of Athena, and some Etsy shops.

Players cannot change their class or culture during the game. Players can change any time prior to the event, however all items will need to be resubmitted for the new culture and class.
-
We will have in and out of game camping available, and players can of course stay at a hotel off-site. You can also see our recommended items checklist, that way you don’t forget anything.
Players who wish to camp in game can purchase tents from vendors like Tentsmiths.
We will also have some tents for rent this year, stay tuned or contact us with questions.
-
Many of the camps work together to provide food. There may also be food vendors at the game. Make sure to bring cash if you want to contribute or purchase. Players can also bring their own food to store in their tents, we recommend non-perishable food items.
-
We strongly encourage new or first-time players to save the money on the tent and camp out-of-game. Camping In-Game can be extremely expensive due to the cost of reenactment tents. A historical decorum tent typically starts around $500, not including poles.
Reckoning has some modern style canvas tents which were approved for use and are considered 'grandfathered.' We caution you that they are not the best investment as most other high immersion events will not allow them. Those modern tents do not meet the intent of a decorum camp due to their very obvious modern design.

Membership purchases are non-refundable.
All entry sales are final after January 1. Our events operate on a living/working budget that depends on confirmed attendance, and it is not sustainable for us to issue refunds after that date.If unexpected circumstances arise, you may email us at thefolks@wanderingfolksociety.org to discuss your situation. While refunds cannot be guaranteed, we are committed to treating our community members with care and will review requests on a case-by-case basis.
Thank you for understanding and supporting our work.
