In the face of obliteration, we unite. In service to the Empress, to our inevitable demise.

Additional Culture Lore

From the shores of the Azure Expanse to the windblown Grass Sea, from the snowcapped peaks of Otho’s Embrace to the outer edge of the Inner Sea Basin, along the banks of the mighty Magna River and among the branches of the Mistwood, all falls under the crimson banner of the Hadrian Empire. At its heart is the Solar Palace and the Empress, whose visions of past, present, and future guide the realm into the uncertainty of a world on the edge of destruction.

According to her visions, the End Times are coming. Only an Empire encompassing all Humanity may stop them from arriving – an Empire including a continent far to the North remembered only in legend. At her direction, the machinery of empire has been pointed unwaveringly to making her will manifest. Regiments of soldiers march to war, legions of craftsfolk forge arms and armor, and diplomats scatter to the furthest corners of the land seeking alliances.

The Empire is more than war and conquest, even despite the stakes; it is also a place of art and culture experiencing a resurgence. Bards play on every street corner, debates unfold in the alehouses night after night, and theaters put on shows financed by patrons of all walks of life. If the world might end, why be dour about it?

    Emily Bihary [Cursebreaker Aurelia Sanctus]

    Culture Lead

Emily decided to try LARPing on an impulse as a 30th birthday gift to herself. She stumbled upon Reckoning just in time for Reckoning 1 where she played a Rivlan before exploring new stories in the Hadrian culture (mostly touching cursed items). In the real world, you can find coordinating trade shows and events.

Cursebreaker Aurelia Sanctus is a fervent follower of the goddess Aelia. She travelled away from her cult in the Capitoline and found a home as a boneknitter in the Vth Legion. But through the Light of Aelia, she learned the language of spells and seeks to utilize every power available to save the Legion and the Empire from the encroaching darkness.

I've been LARPing for the better part of a decade. I came to Reckoning year 1, after I was invited by a friend. My career path includes installation of both AV systems and Security systems.

In game, Septimus is the 7th child of a well to do weapons merchant in the Capitol. Upon reaching enlistment age, he joined the Legion, knowing that was the best way to provide a life for himself. He was assigned to the VIIth legion in time for the siege of Goldenfold, and made a name for himself there as a quartermaster attached to an artillery unit. In the wake of that, he was transferred to the Vth in time for the celebration of the first year of the treaty of the hounds.

    Sanniel Ogawa [Cassius]

    Culture Lieutenant

I am half Japanese and was born and raised in Japan till I was 15 years old, so English is my second language. I have lived all over America and have settled in Ohio...for now. I have been interested in trying LARP for a while, but only had experience with LARP adjacent hobbies such as TTRPG, and boffer sports/SCA. Reckoning (year 2) was my first LARP that I attended.

In game, Cassius is a disgraced noble who has been exiled to the March at the behest of his family. As much as he misses the luxury and freedom that he had back at the Hadrian capital, he sees his time in the March as an opportunity to further his own goals.
